Alin David Lozada RICP®

President and Founder

Alin has been a resident of South Florida for over 50 years and now calls Sarasota his home, having previously lived in Fort Lauderdale. He graduated from the University of Miami with a degree in business management and finance. Alin has owned and founded several firms throughout his 25 years in the financial services profession.

After making these firms profitable over the years, Alin started selling them to other financial services companies, finally selling the last one to spend more time with his mother in the last year of her life. After moving to Sarasota, Alin decided that he wanted to start a firm that would offer the most cutting-edge strategies and tools that the financial services industry had to offer, founding Sarasota Wealth Advisory to serve that purpose.

Alin has mentored advisors throughout the country, and he has been a featured speaker at national financial industry conventions, conducting educational workshops and seminars for advisors and the public on many topics regarding financial planning. Alin has been featured on Wall Street Select, Fox Business News, ABC, NBC, CBS News, CNN, Worth, Boston Globe, Miami Herald, and has hosted his own radio show, Smart Money Strategies, for many years.

When Alin isn’t in the office, he is a fundraiser and advocate for the Alzheimer’s Association, Hospice of South Florida, the Humane Society, and is a judge for the University of Miami ethics debate team, which has won numerous national ethics debate contests. In his spare time, Alin likes to play tennis and practice Tai Chi. He also enjoys lawn bowling and is the president and serves on the Board of Directors The Historic Sarasota Lawn Bowling Club.

A human resources professional with more than 20 years of experience, June has worked for Uniroyal Technology Corp., Cox Target Media, and Boar’s Head with a focus on the design and administration of compensation and benefits programs. She has helped to implement comprehensive retirement benefits. These unique, cutting-edge benefit programs have proven to help retain and attract key employees. June’s experience and desire to help create an atmosphere of financial wellness for companies, small businesses, executives, and professionals make her a highly sought-after benefits consultant.

June believes that great things are accomplished through sound partnerships built on trust and integrity.  In addition to building financial wellness, she is a promoter of health and fitness.  June has led a team of Wellness Champions through a program which substantially increased participation in wellness initiatives.  The increase in employee awareness played a major role in the company’s decreased benefits costs, which in turn allows a company to provide a more enhanced benefits package to include retirement programs.

Barry E. Quinn, BCL, LL.M, RICP

Financial Advisor

With over 20 years of experience in financial services and a certified expert in retirement planning, Barry leverages his wealth of knowledge and practical experience to show our clients – both individual and corporate – how to simplify the complex and understand the power of our strategies to do 3 main things: 1) to boost spendable retirement income in a way that traditional, broker-driven financial planning can’t;  2) to help grow their retirement assets; and/or 3) to help save money by minimizing taxes and other unnecessary expenses.

Barry’s knowledge base was initially forged in New York City, where he worked for over 10 years as a corporate finance attorney with some of the world’s leading (AMLAW 100) law firms and at UBS Investment Bank.  As a Wall Street ‘insider’, he saw at first hand how the inherent bias of certain financial service and asset management firms could inflict great harm on the unwary and unsuspecting.  How oftentimes, instead of acting in a client’s best interests, many firms egregiously picked the pockets of their clientele while exposing them to excessive levels of unwarranted risk, expense and taxes.

The other key element revolves around his designation as a Retirement Income Certified ProfessionalÒ (RICPÒ), which enables him not just to help grow your assets, but, importantly, to help protect, preserve and distribute those assets in a smart, strategically measured way, while negotiating the very complex tax, required mandatory distribution (RMD), social security, medicare and creditor protection rules that invariably apply to the retiree and pre-retiree demographic.

After his time in New York City, Barry relocated to South Florida and transitioned into business management, again in financial services where he worked for a leading alternative asset and specialty finance firm called Peach Holdings, Inc. When this firm was subsequently acquired by a consortium led by Credit Suisse, he founded Retirement Synergies Group, LLC in 2008, a specialty finance, estate planning and independent retirement services firm. Barry has featured on radio shows across South Florida and presented nationally at industry and client events. He has also written extensively and is a published author on various financial planning topics.

As such, Barry works with strategic partners and other industry professionals to help create or improve upon qualified and unqualified retirement plans and related value propositions designed to reduce cost and maximize asset accumulation using time-tested, yet innovative, strategies not widely available elsewhere in the marketplace. He uses his legal training to identify, advise on, and mitigate risk for each client he serves and to add value wherever possible.

Before moving to the United States, Barry grew up in Ireland, graduated from Clongowes Wood College and subsequently earned his Law Degree from University College Dublin, Ireland.  In 1994 he received his Master’s in Law (LL.M Degree) from The Queen’s University of Belfast, Northern Ireland.  During this time he played representative rugby as an All-Ireland League rugby player and retains an interest and involvement in the game to this day.

When time permits, Barry enjoys spending time with his family, helping to keep his young son in check, reading, friends, good foods and fine wines – not necessarily in that order.  A keen sportsman, Barry has replaced rugby with golf,  with some tennis, soccer and keeping fit thrown in.  He is actively involved in national and international rugby business networks and is a founding member of the Irish-American Business Network of South Florida.
